The structure of the GYFTY cable is to insert a single-mode or multi-mode fiber into a loose tube made of a high modulus polyester material filled with a waterproof compound. The center of the core is a non-metallic reinforcing core (FRP). For some cores, a layer of polyethylene (PE) is required to be extruded outside the metal core. The loose tube (and the filling rope) is reinforced around the center. The core is twisted into a compact round core with a gap in the core filled with a water-blocking filler. The outer core of the cable is extruded into a polyethylene sheath to form a cable.
